“For YOU CAN ALL PROPHESY one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.” 1 Corinthians 14:31
Many feel they are called as prophets while some are challenged to find their footing in the prophetic community because they do not fit into the mold of what they perceive prophets to be. I know people who are teaching prophets, evangelical prophets, apostolic, worshiping, dancing, poetic or artistic prophets.
Perhaps you feel you don’t fit in any of the categories and that is fine to. We start where we are at as all CAN PROPHESY.
I remember the day a pastor prophesied over me the first time. It was transformational. God saw me through His eyes but my perception of myself was not what God saw.
- God saw destiny, I saw incompetence
- God saw calling, I saw failure
- God saw purpose, I saw no self-worth
How was I to do what God had established before I was even born. I had settled for the lies of the enemy that loved to keep my down… scraping the bottom of the barrel.
However I loved Jesus, I desperately wanted to hear His voice. How did that pastor hear God’s voice and then speak into existence the transformation what would take place in me?
1 Cor 13:2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. (NLT)
Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy. 1 Cor 14:1 (NLT)
When we prophesy it is crucial that we speak with the LOVE OF JESUS in us. Seek Jesus first who is the Gift giver and not only the Gift.
When my pastor prophesied over me I could sense the love of Jesus in and around me. Jesus in me is what brought the transformation of change that totally changed my life. No longer did I feel insignificant or worthless. A prophetic word sent me on an adventure with. I knew then that I wanted to encourage people, bring comfort when needed and uplift the downtrodden. If the Lord could restore in me my self-worth and draw out potential then He could do that for others.
If you want to encourage, comfort and uplift people through prophesy then pray with me and recommit your life to Him. Let’s pray: Jesus I give you my heart. Come into my life. Forgive me my sin and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Use me for Your Kingdom as I step out in faith and change the spiritual atmosphere in my heart, home and beyond. Jesus I eagerly seek to prophesy, speak I am listening. Amen
For an activation today ask the Holy Spirit who you can encourage, comfort or uplift. Close your eyes, welcome the Holy Spirit into your space. Ask: Holy Spirit show me a picture of a person that needs encouragement today. Holy Spirit show me a scripture or a vision for that person. Now send that encouragement to the person highlighted to you. It does not need to be a long message. A one line encourage filled with LOVE can change someone’s life.
Comment below and let me know who you gave an encouraging word to. Allow Jesus in you to encourage, comfort and uplift those around you as we all can prophesy.
Exercise your gift of prophecy and fan into flame the gift in you by practicing regularly.
Until next time keep prophesying!
Be blessed!
